Question about MiY

SpoilerTheory

Can the MiY/Sophia see the future to an extent?

We've seen 2 occasions so far in the show where the MiY/Sophia appears to be able to read the future.

In S4E2, the whole trap of the goat and Jim is completely dependent on Tabitha sending her children to the barn. Not back inside, not to their godmother Donna at Colony House, but the barn. The place Sara tried to murder Ethan. Where she did murder Nathan. Where Ethan watched Randall try to kill his favourite goat. And where Tian-Chen's blood is still probably on the floor. In other words, Ethan's happy place.

If anybody else finds Jim, the trap seems stupid. Why not just leave him where they placed the goat? It has to be Ethan and Julie who finds them. And they do.

In S4E4, Sophia tells the story of Abraham to an enthralled Marielle and Kristi. As she's telling this story, Bakta randomly decides to toss out a water jug before anyone can drink it. It's obvious that she's trying to draw a parallel to God talking to Abraham, Sara talking to the voices and Sophia falling into a pool.

While Sophia might just be saying that what Sara did won't be effective, it doesn't quite fit the story of Abraham. If someone had drunk it, Sara wouldn't have realised that it was a test. The whole reason Sara got as far as she did was because she never told anyone she was hearing voices. Not even her brother noticed. Whoever drunk that water would not be making it obvious to the only (known) town murderer that they were hearing voices.

It's clear the MiY isn't omniscient though. They don't appear to recognise Julie in S4E4 when she interrupts dinner. They do recognise Julie in S4E1, but in a way which clearly implies that they don't know everything that Julie knows. And while the jury is still out, Sophia didn't look like they were expecting the crows in S4E3.

What do you think? Am I just ignoring the cool factor of having a plan work perfectly? Or does the MiY have an unnatural foresight?
