Fire plan for young kids help!
Hi, I was hoping maybe someone could help me ease my anxiety regarding my kids in case of fire. We live in a 3 bedroom single story home with the master split away from children’s rooms. The laundry room and HVAC is next to kids rooms and would block access to bedrooms for kids if a fire was to occur. We have a 9 year old, 2 year old, and 9 month old. The two younger kids share a room and oldest has his own room. Both kids doors face each other in hallway with laundry room and bathroom doors between them and living room area. I’m concerned if a fire occurred my youngest kids aren’t be able to get out and I wouldn’t be able to get to them. They’re in cribs still. I’m thinking of purchasing an axe to keep in master incase of needing to break their window? I’m unsure how else I would get it them before fire fighters arrive. I couldn’t just wait for the firemen, they’re my babies. My oldest would be able to open his window, it’s a bit hard to push it up but he can in an emergency. What can I do in this situation? I wouldn’t be able to access their rooms from any other way including front door/back door, garage entry if a fire was in laundry room/HVAC/bathroom. Thank you for reading and hopefully someone can offer some advice. Windows are double pane. Located in heartland of USA.
