Through eyes at the end
All I wanted was to love you and be loved back in equal measure.
I was unprepared to blister from the branding iron of your love when all I imagined was the promise of walking together towards a common goal in mutual trust.
But your leadership became dominion, and your encouragement blame, that I buckled under the sudden unexpected weight of your heavy hands.
Now I sit here, collapsed, looking back over the long worn path we walked, and weep at the scattered, beautiful pieces of myself I had to drop in order to hold on to you.
