Almost out of estrogen
So I've been on HRT for almost a year and 9 months now. After a year of taking it orally I switched to injections and have been taking them for about 9 months now. The doctor at the clinic that I go to prescribed me a 90 day supply of estradiol valerate when I first switched over to injections and had it marked as such in my mychart and I'm assuming in the pharmacy as well.
Flash forward 3 months at my next lab appointment and I have a new doctor. Old one went on vacation and never came back. I liked the new doctor, really attentive and non-judgemental, kept my hrt regimen the same(0.25 of valerate weekly, 200 mg t-blocker daily, 100mg prog daily). HOWEVER, in my chart and I assume the pharmacy they upped my supply to 140 days but I was only sent a 90 day supply. I got the 90 day supply in December. It's now May.
I didn't think anything of it when I went to my march labs appointment, hadn't even noticed the switch. Figured it would be like my last set of labs where I got my estrogen sent to me a couple weeks after the appointment. April was very busy for me so didn't even notice how quickly it passed. But this Saturday when taking my injection I noticed I was practically out of e-juice. Like, just barely filled the neck of the bottle. My old bottle is about the same. When I went to check mychart it said I had gotten a 140day supply but I really didn't. I'm now unsure of when I'll get my next bottle and honestly it's really frustrating me. Times have been tough financially so I can't just pay out of pocket for it, but insurance won't cover it because it says I got a 140 day supply and I'm honestly fuming.
I've had to stop going to my psychiatrist to get my non-HRT meds because I can't afford it with rising prices throughout the U.S.. HRT is all that's keeping me going right now and I'm just really upset right now. Has anyone ever had something like this happen? I'm going to get a hold of my pharmacy/doctor to see what I can do but it's just annoying me I even have to do anything because I feel like I shouldn't have to be doing this. Like, wtf wtf wtf.
