Vanilla visa gift card was used before I got to use it
Not sure if this is the right thread. Anyway last year I got a vanilla visa gift card for my mom from CVS in NYC and I was going to take her on a shopping spree. Anyway when she tried to use the card it had a lot of glue stuck that wouldn’t come off with us trying to peel it, so she was unable to swipe it when checking out. She said she would eventually use it for online shopping. Anyway it’s been a year and she hasn’t used it so I was about to order her a new card so she can use it in-store. Just to realize there’s only 5 cents left on the card and there was a charge for $199.95 at a Walgreens in Bayonne, NJ a week after the card was purchased. I know 100% that she didn’t make that purchase because she doesn’t go to NJ. How could they have gotten the card details? My mom and I didn’t send anyone the card info. I am trying to dispute it but it’s been a year and it’s a gift card so I doubt anything will come from it but I’m just so confused.
