I didn’t expect morning sickness to completely change how I eat during pregnancy…
I thought morning sickness would just mean nausea in the morning and that’s it… but for me it completely changed my relationship with food.
I reached a point where even “healthy” foods like vegetables, protein, and even home-cooked meals would trigger nausea or sometimes vomiting. Meanwhile, I noticed I could only tolerate very simple or processed foods without feeling sick.
It started to worry me a lot because I kept thinking:
“Am I eating the wrong things for my baby?”
but at the same time, my body was rejecting most “good” options.
What made it harder is that everyone gives general advice like “eat healthy, avoid junk food”… but nobody really explains what to do when your body physically can’t handle it.
I started trying to understand patterns instead of forcing myself:
- what times of the day are easier
- which textures feel “safer”
- how to reduce the nausea before eating instead of after
Slowly, I realized it wasn’t just about “good vs bad food”… it was more about rebuilding a safe way to eat during this phase.
I’m curious if anyone else experienced this shift where pregnancy nausea changed not just appetite, but what your body can tolerate completely?
What actually helped you get through it?
