Do you ever regret breaking up with the “good guy”?

venting/ranting

I just broke up with a “good guy”. On paper, he was great. Has a great job, kind, smart, loved me and cared for me, takes care of himself etc. Towards the end of our relationship (2 yr), I just started to realize that I was falling out of love with him. I realized that we never opened uo to eachother, the emotional depth of our relationship never grew from when we first started dating.

I never laughed alot with him. His religious views were opposite of mine, and at first it wasn’t a deal breaker, but I soon began to realize how much it actually made us different in our political beliefs and how we saw the world etc. He didn’t take pride in how he presented him to the world, he took care of his body, but all of his clothes were from middle school, didn’t fit him properly or had holes. I know this may seem shallow, but it made me loose alot of attraction for him.

I feel so guilty for letting him go, part of me just thinks I am the issue for not being “in love” with a good man, and that maybe the things I found incompatibilities were shallow, or things that could have been worked on.

tldr: do you regret leaving a good man on paper even though you felt incompatible at times?
