What safety features should I look for in a high-quality ground drill?
I was helping a buddy out with some fencing last month and almost took my own arm off when the auger hit a hidden tree root. It was a terrifying wakeup call that not all gear is built with the user’s safety in mind. After that close call I spent way too much time obsessing over what actually makes a ground drill safe to use.
I ended up falling down a rabbit hole of safety specs and was scrolling through the listings on Alibaba to see what the industry standards are. I was actually pretty impressed with the range of models they had that featured emergency stop triggers and anti vibration handles. Finding units that prioritize operator safety without costing a fortune made me feel way more confident about getting back out there.
But I’m still wondering if those centrifugal clutches are actually reliable when things get messy? Lemme know what you guys suggest for safety.
