I hear stories people having issues with people or self image when they are swollen and general advice is to wait 12-15 mo for swelling to drop.

My situation is I am worse off when not swollen.
Like difference is so big between passing irl and not passing/androgyny irl that I am starting to get harassed again.

a) My surgery was Feb 2024, immediately I had amazing time best in transition so far.
However, I came to conclusion swelling had biggest effect on my face in very positive manner.
Especially lower chin was very rounded to swelling, perfectly shaping the face.
Literally had best time of my life and no one misgender me during 2024-2025 when was still swollen.
I had hope can finally get on with my life now, since 1-2 years pre op people were 50/50 about being passive aggressive to me due to androgyny or just not passing and was a big toll on happiness and safety.

I live in conservative hellholes so there is no trans mecca, people will go out of their way to be dicks if you are visible and passive aggressive, so it's very easily to notice if your feelings are subjective or objective.

I could even get away with crappy eyebrows and people were still super kind and all. People smiling and all, going out of the way to help etc.
I objectively looked better during 2024 and 2025 than I do now.

6-12 mo after was really good time too was healing up from anxiety of fear of being abused and finding relief from finally being able to go out in public

b) late 2025 and 2026 is where things started falling apart, I experience treatment from randoms similar to 1-2 year pre op where I experienced andro phase earlier - people becoming dickheads again passive aggressive, misgendering, refusing eye contact etc.
Kind of heartbreaking cause I thought it would only get better after ffs.

c) not saying just swelling is only reason, I think I am experiencing telogen effivilum hair loss probably after surgery and stress shock, causing hair thinning and dark circles etc.
However, objectively if you look at lower face especially compare older photos to new ones - I have different lower head shape after full healing

How to tell difference if FFS went too conservatively for your needs or you have other factors in play like poor health, aging etc?
