Major Respect to Kangas’s Growth in Descriptive Casting
I’m a long time LCS fan, and I’m sure as many can relate too, have had less time to give my full attention to a match as life has changed.
Today was one of those days when I was very excited to watch Cloud9 face off against FlyQuest by dedicating time to watch the game. Instead, life had other plans, and I’ve needed to listen to the cast without actively watching the game.
I will admit I have biases in LCS casters, and am sometimes dismayed when my favorites arn’t working as sometimes folks get sidetracked from the game and it makes for a tough listen.
Kangas (as well as Jatt) has really shinned for me in the series so far today. I’ve been incredibly riveted by his ability to keep a solid audio check on the state of the game — for example, “the fight was so long, [Rumble Ult name] was back up!”. This may seem redundant for those who can watch, but provides so much additional context for a fight on an audio only channel. Additionally, Kangas calls out which player is making what move - and that has been an exceptionally helpful in fallowing along.
In any event, major respect to Kangas (and Jatt!) for what to me has been a riveting cast today. I’m pumped for game three.
