Is Arc Raiders a Good Fit for Me?

I’ve watched this game leading up to and through release, but cannot tell if it’s a good fit for me. A lot of commentary and reviews have polar opposite feedback. Mainly that the player base is super toxic and filled with griefers and that it’s not toxic at all and most of the player base helps each other or leaves people mostly alone.

I like well fleshed out games with solid mechanics, good combat, “omg, did that just happen?” moments, and things to work towards and replayability. I generally play alone or with randoms, and don’t mind organic interactions and cooperation. I’ve tried to join guilds and discord groups for other games, but I’m just not that social with strangers and find myself soloing games or matchmaking with randoms again.

I know PVP is part of the experience, and while not my favorite thing, I’m alright with it if I’m not constantly getting jumped by higher geared players.

In general, my time is a bit limited, so I can’t get into games that demand a huge time suck with slow progression. Some nights I have time to play for 2-4 hours, but most of the time I have 1-1.5 hours max.

One of my biggest gripes with PVP games is that, because of my limited play time, I never have the latest and greatest gear, so it’s no fun if that’s what’s needed to have a good time and survive.

So, do y’all think this game is a good fit for me?
