New Player

I am wanting to start playing bass and was hoping to get advice on equipment. I have already kind of narrowed in on 4-string Performance style bass as my preferred equipment to start as far as the guitar goes, I don’t know what model to select yet.

Green Day, Weezer and blink-182 are my biggest inspirations.

The dream is to get to Les Claypool/Flea level but I know my limits.

I am hoping to get some suggestions on guitars/amps/strings and any beginner tips.

I have some experience on guitar but it never really resonated with me so I struggled to stay consistent.
