Looking to get a PC for the first time

I’m looking to get my very first pc with a budget of around £2500 but I’m willing to go higher if need be. I’m not sure whether building or prebuilt is better in this economy but I’m pretty lost on what I should be looking out for, I know a lot of the prebuilt stuff is overpriced for what they’re charging though. I mostly want something that can run games smoothly in ideally 1440p or higher and something good for multitasking too. I’m new to all this so I’ll appreciate any advice, parts to get or good prebuilt models worth checking out. I’m in the UK so anything accesible here would be helpful
