I NEED ALPHA READERS FOR MY YA DARK COMEDY
Hey guys!
My name is Sarah and I'm looking for 2-4 alpha readers for my 30,000 word YA dark comedy debut novel, She's Still Here, Apparently.
It's like if Juno, Heathers, and My Best Friend's Exorcism had a threesome.
Here's the pitch:
"Dealing with an unplanned pregnancy would be hard enough for 17-year-old Carrie, but of course, she has to be haunted by her dead best friend."
Here's what I'm looking for in an alpha reader (some are requirements some are preferred):
- Along the ages of 15-24 as the book contains mature themes and swearing (HEAVILY PREFERRED)
- Has a strong love of shitty teen movies (This book was based off of movies like Heathers and Mean Girls so if you don't like those you wouldn't like my book) (PREFERRED)
- Is okay with themes of suicide, teen pregnancy, abortion, self harm, and underage sex (REQUIRED)
- Willing to read and give feedback (I will have specific questions to help you point out what's good or bad) (REQUIRED)
- Is not easily offended by criticism of religion (REQUIRED)
You might be thinking "what's in it for me?" I'm still a teen so I can't pay you (if I did, it wouldn't be anymore than $10, plus the book is short so it's not really a big investment of your time), but I will give you:
- Special thanks on the acknowledgment page if I ever get published (I have my mind set on publishing this thing someway, so don't worry, it WILL happen)
- A printable bookmark design (I know! I'm just so great at Canva lol)
- Opportunities to alpha or beta read in the future
If you want more details, please comment or DM me! I am happy to move to platforms such as Discord or email, or just staying in Reddit DMs. The actual thing is on a Google Doc that I will privately share the link with you and give you suggesting access if we are interested in working together.
Also I'm very flexible and will be okay with as much time as you need to read/reply back to me
Thank you so much! I love you guys!
