*Trump wants the post office sold for parts — the pension freeze is the opening bid.*

# What Nobody Tells You

USPS CFO Luke Grossmann just ripped $2.5 billion from worker pensions to stay solvent until February 2027. Stamps hit 82 cents. Priority mail jumps 8%. Amazon already slashed its USPS volume by 20%, accelerating the bleed. Since 2006’s 213 billion mail unit peak, Congress froze USPS’s borrowing cap at $15 billion.

Postmaster Steiner says it should be $40 billion. Body count: $9 billion net loss last year, plus $1.3 billion in Q1 2026.

GAO: privatization means higher prices, service cuts. If taxpayers backstop the pension fund, that’s roughly $19 per household.

# Why It Actually Matters

Cui bono? FedEx, UPS, and Amazon, ready to cherry-pick profitable urban routes. Wall Street, drooling over the pension fund.

The losers: 761,000 mail workers, rural voters who mail ballots, and 4 million Medicare patients whose prescriptions ride mail trucks — Brookings Institution found mail-order pharmacy use jumps 20% for every 10 miles from a real pharmacy.

# What To Do About It

Stockpile Forever stamps now. Hammer your rep about the $15 billion cap. Vote like your insulin depends on it.
