Amazon Smart Thermostat Cooling Stuck on "Delayed Start"

I'm a refrigeration tech but I have a degree in HVAC. Took me a little thinking because I don't to HVAC everyday. All thermostats are just dumb switches. They don't supply any signals or logic to the smart thermostat. 24 VAC from the red wire to the yellow wire that goes to the compressor contractor makes the outside unit turn on. 24 VAC to green wire makes fans go on. You can even take those wires and connect them and make the AC go on. So the "Delayed Start" if its longer than 5 mins is a Alexa glitch. They put the 5 min delay in so you don't short cycle your compressor. Mine got stuck and never got out of the delay. I fixed it by deleting the thermostat from my Alexa app and re-adding it.
