24 hour penalty being weird?

I'm trying to unlock all the seasonal items from the wishing fountain and i'm not waiting irl months to do all that. When I skipped forward a few months I knew about the penalty but its been over 24 hours, my mii's have the bubbles popping up and hunger going down but the well still hasn't updated?

Does traveling time not unlock those seasonal things?
