Why are so many people rage baiting in this game?

I just had a game where we absolutely stomped them the first round. Everything was going well. Suddenly on the second round, our top two characters started to initiate a surrender. Then they kept doing it after the other team of course capped the 3rd point. Why? I called them out for it, saying we’re doing well but if they want to lose then I won’t try anymore. They started gaslighting me and acting as if they never surrendered and it’s my fault. We ended up losing 5-4. I don’t understand why people get any enjoyment out of this. Does anyone know where this mindset stems from? Is it for streams and tik tok clips?
