Why do people stare so intently at androgynous appearing people here??

I'm very queer and androgynous masc apearing person.. and today I visited chappan dukan and other places nearby .. i noticed that people stare at you soo intently and it feels so weird when they do that.. whyyyy do people here act like this??? Whyy are people so homophobic here??
