apps shouldn’t send out “happy mothers/father’s day” notifications OR you should be able to opt out

As someone who has a TERRIBLE relationship with their mother i think it’s stupid that i should have to get notifications from apps about holidays like this. Now im just speaking from the bad relationship side of this, imagine how people who have lost a parent feel when that notification comes up. i understand parents deserve recognition and completely support apps posting about it and stuff like that, but it being shoved in my face with no consent is lowkey wrong. ive emailed a few app supports about this and ive gotten no response back
this is really a non-issue and a lot of people will disagree but it really just sucks, every year im slapped in the face with a reminder that my mom wouldn’t care if i sent her anything.
