On the surface they seem great and everyone is saying: "Aww 🥰" in the comments. And don't get me wrong, this was a great gift and I am happy for the young man. However, I can't help but think how fucked up what led to him getting the gift was.

We have a young black kid who is trying to earn money in a legit way. While his peers are on Roblox he's trying to earn money... maybe for games and leisure, maybe for necessity like school clothes, I don't know... then some neighbor (who I'll bet my bottom dollar was white or at the very least not black) calls the cops on him.

White people call the police on us so frivilously it isn't even funny. If you're a black man reading this, there has probably been a time yt folks called the cops on you and you left the location before you realized it. While everyone (or most people) are gaga I'm wondering shouldn't the people who called the cops be cited for wasting emergency resources? Like what did they even say: "A big, black, kid was looking for work MENACINGLY officer. Send a SWAT team immediately!!!" The problem is, stories like this depends on the cops being a good person. Let it be a Derek Chauvin or Timothy Loehmann and the poor kid looking for a job is a hashtag on Twitter. Make no mistake... \*\*Everytime white people call cops on you over some bullshit, it's an attempted hit they're placing on us!\*\* Do you know how often white kids come to my house during the winter to plow or something? I usually say yes and throw a few extra dollars their way.

To me, this is like those: "Man who was falsely accused of a crime gets out of prison after 40 years!" stories that are meant to be positive posts.

There's an entire subreddit where "feel good" stories occur in a system that was so fucked up, it caused the issue to begin with. It's called:

r/OrphanCrushingMachine

God, I hate "feel good" stories like this.
