We stopped talking a year ago under weird circumstances, is it too late to reconnect?

So about a year ago I met a girl on public transport. We had friendly conversation and exchanged contacts. We started chatting on Facebook after that. A few things happened that I can't stop thinking about:

- Around the same time we were talking, her female friend sent me a friend request out of nowhere. I didn't accept it or mention it to her. Looking back, I wonder if that meant something.
- At some point she said "one moment, I'll come back" and never did. I've always wondered if she did it on purpose to make me chase her(its a bit common in my country) or if she just genuinely had another reason.

It's been a year now and I'm thinking about reaching out again. Is it weird to reconnect after that long? And what do you think about those two things: was she playing games or just being normal?

We still friends in facebook and checked her profile she has the single status.

I m a man with pride but i dont want to miss good girl for a stupid reason, but also i dont want to get ghosted again...

What would you do please?
