I suspect last weeks twist only happened because of Kyle’s medevac

They love doing that pyramid challenge at 10 and splitting into 2 groups of 5. They were prob planning on one more player being in the game at this point still, so when there wasn’t, they needed some kind of twist for the odd person out that wasn’t just another trip to exile. No proof other than a hunch and the game’s past history of doing these kinda last minute adjustments when player counts get thrown off
