“Crabs in a bucket” is a dumb metaphor
Alot of people in political arguments (especially from the left) describe those that disagree with them as acting as crabs in a bucket. This is dehumanising and also dumb, for one there is no bucket. For two the behaviour of crabs in a bucket has no effect on the fate of those crabs, the crabs will never leave the bucket alive they are going to the crab factory to become crab cakes. There is no amount of teamwork that will save them so why are you judging the crabs whatever the hell they decide to do?
But luckily we are not crabs and we are not in a bucket
Anyone who uses this metaphor should, at a minimum, explain to me how the crabs should act to escape the bucket
Then feel free to explain how we are in a bucket, i see no bucket, i am free to go wherever, the only bucket that restricts me is that of gravity, so feel free to use that metaphor for escaping earth’s gravitational field
