Opinions on "Dark Romcom?"

I've seen a lot of folks looking for dark romance with certain attributes for fem characters but rarely see dark romcom's recc'd let alone a mention of these authors.

Frankly Dark Romcom is one of my absolute favourite genres as it ticks a lot of the boxes of what I look for.

The books I'm thinking of are ones like {lights out} and {butcher and blackbird by brynne weaver}

What are y'alls thoughts on the subgenre?
