Bright red blood on stool

I almost regularly get bright red blood on my stool if i am pooping a lot, and/or if i eat something really spicy in a row. Its a lot of blood and it typically last for a day but i feel like i have a scratch or wound on my anus sometimes after bleeding. It has happened at least once a month maybe once in 2 months. It has been happening for a few years now. Im thinking of going to the doctor for it.

Edit: sorry forgot to put the question. My question is cancer likely or possible in this case?
