Anxiety and overthinking but CBT doesn’t help
I’ve read a lot about CBT, anxiety, neurobiology, etc., but my problem is that when I have an anxious thought, I can realize that my thinking is irrational, yet I still can’t feel that everything is okay. I can write down a thousand reasons why everything will be okay, but my emotions and body still feel the same: a filthy, slimy sense that something bad is going to happen. I can imagine the worst-case scenario, and it feels incredibly realistic. In those moments, it even feels like kinda nausea.
I work out three times a week, but it doesn’t help much. Most of the time, I can’t just ignore my anxious thoughts because the anxiety is too overwhelming to handle.
I’d appreciate any ideas I might be overlooking.
