Actually clueless at this point
FTM. LO had a horrible tongue tie which led to me exclusively pumping…over the last week I’ve been doing the every two hours including two power pumps (at least one a day for sure) typically averaging 6-8 pumps a day. My LC told me I can break overnight so I do. He is going on six weeks Monday.
I was JUST starting to produce enough for him to have a full 4oz bottle of milk. He had one Friday and Saturday….but now he’s showing signs of lactose overload or the foremilk/hindmilk imbalance.
Meaning his poop is frothy, smells way worse and he is fussier and throwing up with the breastmilk but not the formula. He never had these issues with the formula. No I’m not an oversupplier but I swear all his issues align with what I am reading online about the imbalance. And it ONLY happens with the breastmilk. I feel so defeated I worked so hard to get to this point.
Yes I am on supplements (pumping princess but not the full 6pills a day just about two or three and my own daily vitamin). Can that have something to do with it?
I am three seconds from completely giving up. I went from wanting to give up due to low supply to now wanting to give up even with a supply because it’s making him sick. I legit don’t know what to do. I’m going to message his doctor and my LC tomorrow to see what they say.
