SLIP: Daya Plaza Race Track - Elrood - Race #1-1

The Susman League of Intergalactic Podracing welcomes you to the Daya Plaza Race Track, here on gorgeous Elrood.

We're looking out over the race track that twists its way around the historic Daya Plaza. Crowds have been coming in via the Elrood Monorail from both the nearby city of Elrooden and the Elrooden Starport.

Our pilots are readying themselves to the cheers of the crowds.

Ironside are getting into a heated argument among themselves. It looks like the Commander is trying to sort out a disagreement between his troops.

Crimson Apex are signing autographs along with Luminous Wonder. Their fans are going wild! But really they should be preparing their podracers.

It looks like the Black Ash Marauders are speaking with Beeble Broots Crew. They seem to be making some sort of friendly agreement.

But now the referees are calling the pilots to get in their podracers and take their places at the starting line.

We’re just doing final checks. It looks like something is wrong with one of the Crimson Apex podracers.

But the Referees are giving the all clear and…

They’re OFF!

Luminous Wonder and Ironclad are out in front, as they twist their way through the Forest Course. Those Sienar thrusters are doing good work for Ironclad. Crimson Apex are off to a bad start, Sela Dray is getting whacked on the turn by the Beeble Broots Crew as they twist their way through the forest! OH NO THE TREES! SELA IS OFF THE TRACK! And out of the race!

The other Broots are duking it out in the middle with the Black Ash Marauders, while they let Luminous and Ironclad maintain their lead, and it looks like Malk Renn… from Black Ash, he’s has bitten off more than he can chew, he’s surrounded by the Beeble Broots Crew and MALK’S NOT GOING FAST ENOUGH! The podracers are coming up on the Monorail Jump, but Malk is accelerating too slow to make the jump… he’s FALLEN SHORT! Beeble has knocked Malk out of the race! They’re not making any friends on this track as they skitter towards the lead!

Beeble Broots is setting the next Black Ash Marauder in their sights, they need to keep their speed up or they wont make it over the Perma Loop. Coming up behind Beeble is Crimson Apex! They want revenge for Sela! And BEEBLES CRASHED He’s knocked off the loop by Rax Venter who’s pushing to the front! Beeble is going to need a medic after that one.

The Podracers are coming up on the Artists Guild Grandstand. The crowd and podracers are roaring as they zoom down the strait, but Crimson Apex is in trouble, that engine is sparking and sputtering. Jyn “Switch” Corado is slowing down to redirect power, can they fix it in time?

Let’s check in with the front of the race where Luminous, Ironclad are still out in front, while Beeble and Crimson Apex are catching up with Black Ash hot on their heels.

But Rax Venter has missed his turn, he’s off the track! He’s flying over those barricades!

Ironclad and Luminous are slowing down as they ram each other, and it looks like Vexa and Mr Gool are both raming each other more than they’re fighting Luminous! Watch out teams, the Broots are sneaking up behind them!

JREEBLE BROOTS zooms past Ironclad and Luminous as Greeble runs interference on the final stretch. Jreeble crosses the line! The BROOTS CREW HAVE TAKEN FIRST!

RAX VENTER from out of nowhere leaps back onto the track right behind Jreeble and TAKES SECOND PLACE for CRIMSON APEX!

And COMMANDER DANE shakes off Luminous, IRONCLAD is coming in with THIRD PLACE! His squad being no help at all!
