Looking for people to join a tour to Amatenango de Valle on May 12

Pottery Workshop with Traditional Potters

For a day forget about the digital world and transport yourself in time. Become a child who plays with the clay. Open up to creativity and let your imagination run wild… We will travel to Amatenango del Valle, approx. 50 minutes from San Cristobal, Tseltal town where women to this day keep alive the tradition of making pottery crafts as it was in pre-Hispanic times.
• Departure from San Cristobal de las Casas at 9am (If the group is agree we can depart before)
• Traditional breakfast at the potters' house with their family
• Hands-on activities with clay guided by the potter
• Painting a piece of Pottery
• Visiting to the pottery gallery
• 3 pm return to San Cristobal de las Casas

THIS EXPERIENCE IS A GENUINE INTERACTION WITH THE LOCAL PEOPLE. We’ll not only learn about the living Tseltal culture, but we’ll also share it and experience it.
