My likely useless predictions for how they'll twist and tie it up.

So it's been postulated plenty that Stormfront is actually Homelander's mother. They've been driving a lot more at that with Soldier Boy talking about how they were together for decades and how he loved her. I'm guessing that it ended when she got preggo and Vought whisked her away to birth Homelander. Hell, the whole "laser my tits" thing might've been because baby Homie did just that when breastfeeding. It's just the kind of sick, twisted shit they'd do on this show. I figured sometime in season 2 that they'd eventually drop that bomb.

But I think it's going to go deeper than that. I think that not only is Stormfront still alive, but Vought faked her death because she got knocked up with Homelander's son/brother and they needed to keep it under wraps. I think in the end he'll find out about the whole thing, see his super rolltide baby, and an hero himself into the sun or something to that effect. Again, just the kind of fucked up shit they'd do. They've hinted at her being alive when Soldier Boy asked if Homelander saw her body. No, he didn't. Neither did we, in fact. We saw a shrouded gurney and that was it.
