My friendships have become frustrating
From senior year in high school til university, I’ve had the most friends I’ve ever had, which is pretty sad. I’ve spent a lot of my younger years alone without many, if any, friends. And yet I see people from my university and other universities have tons of pictures from this past semester and they obviously have tons of friends and all these different experiences, and even partners. Here I am, having neither a partner and barely any friends at my current university. And I barely have any pictures of me hanging out with people from this past semester.
I feel like I’ve consistently come across the problem of lack of effort within my friendships and people just not reaching out. And now, it’s like with one of my best friends, they’ve left me on delivered for 2 weeks since my most recent message, and longer than that for the oldest message I sent that they haven’t answered. I have other friends that’ll leave me on delivered for days to weeks when I know they’re on social media. Only a seldom number of my friends even remember my birthday when I know all of theirs. Now, I don’t think I’m the funnest person to talk to and I’m trying really hard to work on and change that and figure out what I’m doing wrong. I just wish my friends would be straight up with me and tell me they don’t wanna be friends or something like that or tell me what I’m doing wrong that makes them leave me on delivered for so long.
And I’m going to graduate this upcoming school year and I probably won’t have any friends to take pictures with since I transferred back in Fall 2025. I’m gonna try to join some more orgs this upcoming semester, but I think it’s just a lost cause.
