Am I being a paranoid cat mom
My husband and I recently moved into an apartment, along with two roommates who are a couple. One of our roommates sprays a lot of perfume (it smells good, don't get me wrong, it is just ridiculously strong) and lights candles in their room. Candles are normal, totally understand. It just seems like they have the candle lit for quite a while at times, sometimes hours. Even though it's in their bedroom and their door stays mostly shut, you can still smell it when you walk into the apartment.
For reference, our apartment is maybe 1100 sq ft and our roommates' room is right down the hall, maybe 4 feet or so away from ours. We keep our cat's litter box and food/water in our bedroom, and we keep him in the bedroom while we're not home (at least for the time-being)
When they spray the perfume, it is mostly in the bathroom, which is right outside our bedroom door. It also leads right into the living room, and the smell drifts strongly into the living room.
I could be over-thinking this, but is this bad for my cat to breathe in? I'm scared he'll develop allergies from this (it also triggers my allergies a bit too)
I don't want my roommate to feel bad, and this is their space too, so I don't know if I should bring this up. If I do, I want to bring it up as gently as possible
Do any of your cats have allergies to strong smells? Am I over-thinking this?
