Should we buy MacBook Air M2 now for ₹89k or wait for August sales in India?

Discussion

Hi everyone,

My partner and I are both in-service teachers from India, and we’ll be moving to the UK this September for further studies (teacher training course). Right now, we’re using old Asus laptops that are around 6 years and 4 years old, and we finally want to upgrade to MacBooks before leaving.

We are not interested in the new MacBook Neo. Even an older MacBook Air M1 or M2 is perfectly fine for our needs (teaching, presentations, assignments, browsing, light editing, etc.).

The issue is that in India, especially on Flipkart/Amazon, most M1 and many M2 models are going out of stock. Currently, I’m getting a MacBook Air M2 for around ₹89k.

We’re confused whether:

  • we should buy now before stock disappears completely, OR
  • wait for August Independence Day sales / festive offers and hope prices drop further.

Since we need to buy 2 MacBooks, even a ₹5–10k difference per laptop matters for us. At the same time, we’re worried that waiting might mean fewer stocks or worse deals.

People who recently bought Macs in India — what would you recommend? Is ₹89k already a good deal for the M2 in 2026, or should we wait till August sales?

TL;DR:
Need to buy 2 MacBooks before moving to the UK this September. M1/M2 stocks are disappearing, and currently getting MacBook Air M2 for ₹89k. Should we buy now or wait for August sales for better prices?
