Anyone else who is 🤏 this close to letting go of one of their dealbreakers?
22M here and yeah, you read the title right. Anyone else feel like they’re close to giving up one of their dealbreakers?
As a practicing Muslim brother, one of my dealbreakers is marrying someone who observes proper hijab. I mean full hijab with a cap and modest dressing. No showing baby hairs or wearing revealing clothes. To me, that’s the bare minimum. But honestly, it feels like the search pool gets really small with these requirements.
Sometimes I think if I let go of these two things, suddenly there would be so many more sisters to consider. And a lot of them are genuinely amazing in other ways.
But at the same time, I really don’t want to compromise on this. As a man with gheerah, not in a controlling or obsessive way, I just can’t seem to let it go. I don’t only want to be a husband someday, I want to be a father too. And if Allah blesses me with a daughter, I’d want her mother to set that example for her.
No hate at all toward non-hijabi sisters. Everyone is on their own journey. This is just something I personally struggle to compromise on.
Anyone else dealing with this? Any advice?
