Anyone else have customers randomly come back months after ghosting a quote?

Something I’ve noticed doing service work:

a customer will disappear after a quote, I assume the job is dead, then randomly come back months later ready to move forward like nothing happened.

At first I thought people were just ignoring me, but now I’m realizing a lot of customers:

- get busy
- delay projects
- forget to reply
- shop around
- then circle back later

The weird part is when you already mentally moved on from the lead.

Curious how other service business owners handle this without spending half their life chasing follow-ups.
