These aren’t for sale. These are the ones staying with me. Left to right: uraninite ring, Toledo Ohio plant Jeepite/Fordite pendant, Houze factory uranium slag glass pendant, and a North Carolina Funkite pendant laid out on a glowing milk glass hand tray like artifacts from some alternate timeline where lapidary goblins inherited the industrial revolution 😆

What I love about this lineup is every piece preserves industrial history differently. The Fordite formed layer by layer from years of automotive paint overspray at the Toledo Jeep plant until it basically became synthetic agate. The uranium slag glass came out of furnace waste and melt flow from the Houze glass operation and still carries those violent magenta flow structures inside the creamy matrix. Then the Funkite looks like fluorescent industrial stratigraphy from a cyberpunk landfill. Under UV they all behave completely differently too. The slag glass goes full reactor-core green, the Funkite turns into a fluorescent topographic map, and the Fordite just sits there pretending it’s a natural fortification agate.

And then there’s the uraninite ring quietly lurking on the side like “yes, I’m also radioactive.” Honestly this whole setup feels less like jewelry and more like curated industrial relics. Same reason I love rocks and minerals in the first place. They preserve process, time, pressure, chemistry, and history inside layers. These just happen to come from factories instead of volcanoes ☢️
