CJC-1295 with DAC versus without DAC is the most consequential decision in this category and most people don’t understand the difference

CJC-1295 comes in two forms. Mod GRF 1-29 (no DAC) and CJC-1295 with DAC. People treat these like they’re interchangeable. They are extremely not interchangeable.

Without DAC, CJC is a short-acting GHRH analog. Half-life is something like 30 minutes. You inject, you get a GH pulse, it’s over. This is what you want if you’re trying to mimic natural pulsatile GH release, which is how the system is supposed to work physiologically.

With DAC (drug affinity complex), the molecule binds to albumin and the half-life stretches out to roughly a week. You get a sustained elevation in GH and IGF-1 rather than pulses. That sounds better on paper. It is not better in practice for most goals.

The reason pulses matter is that GH receptors downregulate under sustained stimulation. Your body is built to handle GH coming in waves, not as a constant infusion. CJC with DAC essentially turns your endogenous GH system into a low-dose continuous HGH protocol, which has different effects, different side effect profile, and different long-term implications.

If your goal is to support natural GH function — better sleep, recovery, body comp drift over months — Mod GRF without DAC, dosed before bed and stacked with a GHRP, is what the protocols are built around. If your goal is to chase elevated IGF-1 numbers, CJC with DAC will do that, but you’re approaching exogenous GH territory at that point and the risk profile shifts accordingly.

Most people running “CJC + Ipamorelin” should be running Mod GRF 1-29 with Ipamorelin. The DAC version is overprescribed by clinics because weekly dosing is easier to sell than nightly dosing
