Condition after semi perm

Listen I know we do not shampoo. But my husband and I are disagreeing. He read and showed me a few places that said not to condition your hair after semi permanent dying it. Only rinse with cold water and wait a few days. Now I had never heard of this. Is this factual? Because my hair is so dry and I cant imagine ill be able to comb it or do much of anything to it without some Type of moisturizer in it after dying. For reference I used caitlyn arctic fox.

I shampood because dying and used no conditioner and my hair was so knotty :( but I really want this color to work out so I dont wanna make a mistake. Sitting here with the dye in. Thank you!
