Avi Loeb argues that humanity is unlikely to sit at the top of the cosmic food chain because the Milky Way contains many stars and any visiting aliens would likely be more technologically advanced, frames the situation as a chance to learn rather than a threat, calls for declassification and full disclosure of UFO data for science to evaluate any evidence, notes that extraterrestrials, if they exist and have reached Earth, are more accomplished and that civilization might be a younger sibling in a quiet galactic family, points out that modern science is only about a century old yet has made remarkable leaps and that a civilization with a million-year head start could look unimaginable, connects the discussion to Trump’s order to release government UFO files with a staged release likely starting with less sensitive material and raw satellite data posing political and security challenges, and argues that regardless of disclosure any confirmed non-human technology would be the biggest discovery in human history, potentially reordering scientific priorities and political aims and shifting public desire toward learning from neighbors, with Loeb saying he is ready to help interpret any evidence if invited and treating the issue as a shared human concern.
