I think I’m in love with my best friend.

Help! Me and my best friend have been friends since middle school so like 7 years now, we went through so much together. Plays , musicals, classes. Now we are about to graduate and I’ve noticed that when I talk to her my chest goes crazy. My cheeks feel like the sun straight on my face when she looks at me, and I catch her eyes.

Okay ok, backstory My name is James 18 M and her name is Veronica 18 F (not real name obviously) and when I moved from my old city to here back in 6th grade she was my first friend. We hung out all the time, kept in contact during Covid and did so many things together during these last 4 years in high school. Now there was a point for us where we “dated” but that was only during middle school and kinda freshmen year. But it ended and we kinda forgot that ever happened. (It was a weird part of our lives then). But after that I started dating someone for a bit till earlier this year we broke up, then I dated a guy for a few weeks after then we broke up. Anyways she has a boyfriend/girlfriend themselves (their gender fluid, the partner) and I respect that, hell I helped put them together when I was dating my girlfriend at the time.

Just a few days ago and now at 12:40 when I should be asleep I’ve realized I am in love with her. So what I’m trying to ask is what do I do? Thank you for listening I know it’s a little messy, also Shayne if you’re reading this hi! I’m a big fan.
