end of 1st year at college and so much pressure
Why is there so much stuff to do at the end of the year? I have to apply for on campus jobs because you have to apply the academic year before (most of which are already taken), and the job market in this city is so cooked so everywhere else is taken too or expects 10 yrs experience + a master’s. I also I have to find housing for next year. I also have to study for exams. I also have to start packing my things to move out during summer. I also have to apply for the volunteer program in my major.
My family expects so much of me because I chose to go to college. They want me to find a job (I technically have one as an AI trainer, don’t come after me it’s literally all that’s open rn). Like a job is just going to magically fall from the sky. and YES i have applied to many. They also want me to get scholarships like scholarships ALSO fall from the sky. im a pretty average student grades and demographic wise so the likelihood of me getting scholarships is low (yes i did apply to all the applicable ones). They’re also mad I don’t qualify for FAFSA even though that’s their “fault” for making too much money. Isn’t it good that they’re financially well off to not qualify?? (i know it’s more complicated than that). they also said im on my own for next year paying for college.
also also im in a relationship and very worried how next school year is going to change that. im very scared we’re gonna get too busy for each other and have an earth shattering break up.
im so worried about finding a job and being able to afford college next year. plus working a job while keeping up with my studies. there’s so much to worry about for next year i can barely focus on this year. and it’s exam season rn so i kind of really need to focus
