Atleast 10X return on Marriott BONVOY Credit Card - 2 Smart Strategies with Almost Free Holiday
JW Marriott Ranthambore is now live for bookings, including award stays. Worthy a stay if you are sitting on Marriott Bonvoy points. Look at the award charts and the hotel. The place comes with an Open Air shower and tub in most rooms perfect for a romantic getaway and score some brownie points with your BAE. I have already gone ahead and booked for Jan 2027.
A few things worth knowing before you pull the trigger:
Weather-wise, October through March is the comfortable window. But if wildlife is the whole point of going to Ranthambore (and let's be honest, it usually is), March to June is when sightings actually happen. March threads the needle nicely. Though I am booking for Jan aligned to school holidays in North.
All three room categories — base, garden view, and lake view — are going for the same 35k points a night right now. The lake view rooms are the pick of the lot, and they're priced at ₹61.6k cash in peak season. So for a 5 day lazy staycation, you can score anything between a 2-3 Rs per point with 140K points for 363K INR ( though that’s with breakfast). In any case this becomes a fab redemption.
Lets look at two ways to score a fab vacation :
AMEX METHOD
If you use American Express Platinum Charge points from joining benefits ( Apply for the Card and also get 125K joining+referral points.
Award rates hold steady year-round, which is the other reason to lock something in now.
Quick value check on the conversion for 5 nights though it will be slightly lower for lesser nights:
5 nights → ~2.4 INR per point (the 5th-night-free adds significant value)
HDFC MARRIOTT CREDIT CARD METHOD
In case you are looking for a smaller staycation, you and your SO can also use Marriott BONVOY credit card from HDFC to book with 2 FNAs ( 1 each) with some addon from MB points.
You can apply for that card here and score 2 nights worth 50K+ INR FOR JUST 3.6K
If you've got the points sitting around, this is a solid use of them and hopeful that in the first year hotel will bump you up if you are a Marriott Bonvoy GOLD via Amex Plat Charge Card
