Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a small side project over the past few days, and I’d genuinely love some feedback from builders here.

The idea came from a simple frustration:

Whenever I saw salaries online (or even in offer letters), it always felt… misleading.

Because what actually matters is: How much you take home after taxes, deductions, and location adjustments.

\---

So I built a simple calculator that shows your real income based on:

salary

country / region

tax impact

basic personal details

Here’s a sample link if you want to try it:

# [Salary Calculator Tool](https://www.salarycalculatorapp.com/?country=US&salary=75000&period=annual&currency=USD&region=TX&status=single)

\---

⚙️ What I focused on:

Keeping it fast and simple (no signups)

Making the output actually useful for decision-making

Avoiding clutter — just clarity

\---

🤔 Why I built this (especially in the AI era):

We’re using AI for everything now — resumes, job prep, salary negotiation…

But I realized: 👉 Even with all that, most people still don’t clearly understand their actual income

And that affects real decisions like:

switching jobs

negotiating offers

budgeting

\---

🚧 What I need help with:

I’m trying to figure out:

Is this actually useful, or just a “nice to have”?

What would make this something you’d actually use regularly?

Any obvious UX or logic gaps?

\---

I’m not trying to push this hard — just building in public and learning.

Would really appreciate any honest feedback (even brutal is fine).

If you’re also building something, happy to check it out too 🤝

I built a simple tool to calculate “real salary” (not just CTC) — would love feedback
