Is it worth taking when I’m old?

I’m not a opioid user and have no desire to at this point in my life because I know how slippery of a slope it is. But would it be worth taking when I’m old (like 70s or 80s)? And is there any drugs anyone else can think of that would be worth trying when I’m close to dying? My current experience is just psychedelics, xtc and weed but I definitely want to experience some harder drugs once there is no slope remaining to slip on.
