Where to move in West Philly - Baltimore ave/52nd or Powelton?
Hi, I'm an artist and writer in my late 20s looking to move to a place for the summer with a bohemian, DIY vibe - very socially fluid with other people my age. I've heard that West Philly would be best.
I'm not able to spend a lot for the summer and found a place on Baltimore Ave/52nd with a nice roommate in my price range. However, I've heard that it's much easier to get around from Powelton/University City/etc, and there are a few places there, just a couple hundred dollars more. I don't have a car and am a terrible biker, so the location gives me pause.
If anyone's lived on Baltimore/52nd or close by, and I want to go out often, would it be a considerable increase in quality of life to choose Powelton area instead? I do care about being able to feel mobile and in a place where punk/artist/DIY communities are hanging out and about. So I wasn't sure if if this place felt convenient to travel to and from.
Thank you guys so much.
