[MW3] is it just me or does makarov sound more like american?

I play as a bodyguard for the president, after all couple of fighting. I reached to helicopter with president, then when i opened the door for president. I get shot by makarov, I expected some russian accent but it sounded way beyond from that.

What is the actors nationality?
