If you want context, the linked post is where I’m at mentally. But that was a vent (no advice)-tagged post so now I’m asking for advice.

I REALLY need to get over this hump regardless of how I feel s and I’m trying to snap myself out of it. Here are the things I’ve already tried:

1. Change of scenery
2. Time blockers
3. ADD meds (I’m diagnosed and not abusing the drug. I’m writing this post with complete focus right now)
4. Prayer to every God
5. Long walks to get myself out of my head
6. All sorts of mental gymnastics to take my feelings and identity out of the work so I can just do it mechanically.
7. Fear of the consequences as a motivator, shame as a motivator, peer comparison as a motivator — anything to give myself a kick in the butt

But. nothing. sticks. Instead I do shit like going on runs, trying out new hairstyles, exploring and binge-watching new tv shows, watching lots of cat videos. I call it shit because my mind has just hit complete apathy and numbness.

My committee hasn’t given me a single line of feedback even on the drafts that I have already completed and sent them. Getting rejected from jobs left and right already. This whole endeavor just seems so utterly futile on every level. But I keep telling myself that even if they never respond to my emails I must keep sending them work to have my bases covered.

Seriously, any advice, no matter how silly will be appreciated. If anyone is interested in follow-up, I’d even get back to you with results on your suggested tips.

Please give me your best tips to get the last chapter of my dissertation done
