Are dating apps considered a stigma in your family?

I’m 24F and want to start exploring dating but unfortunately, it feels like a taboo in my family. I’m so scared of what my parents might think that I’ve never told them about any of my past relationships(not even once).

Even having feelings for someone or wanting to find a partner on my own before marriage is looked down upon. But at the same time, my older cousin is actively looking to get married and has been talking to several girls he met through matrimonial sites and everyone seems completely okay with it.Sometimes it feels like Indian parents only want us to get married under their guidance and approval rather than letting us choose freely as adults.

Has anyone else experienced this in their family?
