I'm curious, what's that typical tune we'd hear in those old kr/jp mmo's?

When you hear ragnarok's,flyff's,rose's,fiesta's, they have this one common tune, kinda like a flute? I've been meaning to ask what it is? Does anyone know? or is it really just a flute?
